Nouryon Launches Biodegradable Rheology Modifier & Texturizer for Personal Care

announced the launch of Structure® Silk starch, the newest addition to its Structure® portfolio of naturally derived and sustainable rheology modifiers. Developed in response to market trends for new, innovative textures and unique sensory experiences, Structure® Silk starch provides end users with a final product featuring a luxurious, cushioned feel and bright luminosity for skin care, hair care, and hair styling formulations.
Offers a Bright, Glossy Emulsion & High Clarity in Aqueous Systems
Structure® Silk starch is the latest in a series of more natural products to be offered from Nouryon's Structure® portfolio which also includes:
- Structure® M3 co-surfactant
- Structure® XL starch

- Structure® Solanace starch

In addition to efficient thickening, Structure® Silk starch is a sustainable ingredient. It features a Renewable Carbon Index (RCI) greater than 90%, is readily biodegradable (per OECD 301B1), and is a non-Genetically Modified Organism (GMO). It is also cold-water processable and compatible with a wide range of commonly used ingredients in hair and skin applications, providing unmatched versatility and sustainability benefits.
