Elkem completes sale of majority of its Silicones division to Bluestar

Formulators and specifiers sourcing silicone-based materials should note that Elkem ASA has completed the sale of the majority of its Silicones division to Bluestar (the "Silicones Transaction"), following the agreement announced on 13 February 2026 and shareholder approval obtained at the general meeting of 9 March 2026.

Silicones transaction completed

The Silicones Transaction has been completed. As part of the completion, all 338,338,536 shares held by Bluestar in Elkem have been redeemed. Bluestar is no longer a shareholder of the Company. Following this redemption, Elkem's registered share capital stands at NOK 1,505,514,210, divided into 301,102,842 shares with a nominal value of NOK 5 each.

 

The changes to the composition of Elkem's Board of Directors and Nomination Committee, as resolved at the general meeting of 30 April 2026, became effective upon completion of the Silicones Transaction. Bluestar no longer holds representation on Elkem's Board of Directors or Nomination Committee.
