Last update on Nov 12, 2025
Croda Beauty Actives unveils DS-Ceramide Y3S™, a IECIC-compliant fermentation-derived Ceramide NP to answer the trendy concept of geoskincare. This new approach is based on targeted treatments according to the geographical and climatic context.
Immediate resistance for the skin in dry and cold environments, and offers cumulative benefits
This liposoluble active ingredient went through a clinical study with specific temperature and humidity conditions to measure its efficiency under different climates. Temperate, dry & hot, dry & cold and humid conditions were applied to panels from different regions like South Korea and Italy to measure the impact of climate on the skin barrier.
These tests have demonstrated that DS-Ceramide Y3S™ provides significant immediate resistance for the skin in dry and cold environments and offers cumulative benefits by increasing skin hydration after 7 days of daily use in humid conditions. DS-Ceramide Y3S™ at 0.5 % also significantly increases skin hydration in normal (temperate) conditions (+31 % at T2 weeks vs T0) and hot and dry environments (+47 % at T2 weeks vs T0) with results in line with 1 % positive control (hyaluronic acid).
Part of the SphingoCare™ range, 100 % natural-origin content (per ISO16128), RSPO, Cosmos- and Natrue-approved, vegan suitable and IECIC-compliant, DS-Ceramide Y3S powers up the skin’s barrier with resilient care for every season and environment.
