What is SODIUM COCOYL SARCOSINATE used for?

Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate is valued in cosmetics for its mild cleansing, foaming, and conditioning effects. It is especially popular in sulphate-free and sensitive skin formulas.

For skin: Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate effectively cleanses the skin without being harsh or damaging the barrier. Its creamy foaming quality enhances the sensory feel of products and makes it a favorite in gel cleansers and facial foams. Not only is it non-drying, but Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate also conditions the skin and leaves it feeling clean and healthy.

For hair: Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate offers mild yet effective cleansing of scalp and hair, and is even suitable for daily use. It puts to rest the problems caused by harsh cleansers like itching, dryness, and flakiness. It also improves the lather in shampoos, making it feel luxurious.

Origin

Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate comes from the fatty acids found in coconut oil. The fatty acids are first isolated and reacted with sarcosine to form Cocoyl Sarcosine. This is then neutralized with sodium hydroxide to form Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate. The final ingredient is purified and concentrated.
