What is CENTELLA ASIATICA LEAF EXTRACT used for?

Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract is a multifunctional ingredient having potent hydrating, skin-soothing, and rejuvenating properties. Being natural and rich in beneficial actives, it supports both skin regeneration and scalp health.

For skin: Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract is healing in nature - making it highly effective in treating sensitive, irritated, or damaged skin. It strengthens the skin barrier by encouraging ceramide production, reduces redness, and minimizes scarring from acne or injuries. Its antioxidant activity also helps prevent premature aging by protecting skin cells from oxidative stress.

For hair: On the scalp, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract improves microcirculation and helps soothe inflammation, which can support hair growth and reduce issues like itching, dryness, or dandruff. By maintaining a balanced scalp environment and reducing oxidative stress around hair follicles, it contributes to stronger, healthier hair.

Origin

Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract is a botanical ingredient that comes from the Centella Asiatica plant, which thrives in the moist, humid climates of South, Southeast, and East Asia. It is extensively used in Cica creams and Ayurvedic medicines. To make the extract, the leaves are harvested, dried, and ground. It is then soaked in ethanol/water, and low heat is provided to the mixture. After the extraction, this light green liquid is filtered and preserved.
