What is ALGAE EXTRACT used for?

Varieties of red, green, blue and brown algae are known for their skin-brightening properties, mainly due to the high concentration of vitamin C in them.

  • Skin care: Algae extract consists of potent antioxidants, thus, providing anti-aging benefits by reducing enzymes that break down collagen in the skin. The result is skin that has high elasticity and reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This helps in the treatment of hyperpigmentation issues like acne scars and dark circles. Algae varieties like seaweed and red algae are known to calm inflammation in the skin. It can be used in brightening creams, under-eye cream, anti-aging cream etc.
  • Hair care: In shampoos used to treat dandruff, it helps calm an inflamed or irritated scalp. The antioxidants found in algae extract help to maintain a healthy scalp ultimately resulting in hair growth, decreased flaking, more shine and volume for your hair, and reduced inflammation.
