It acts as a flow and leveling agent. Designed to promote the control of orange peel and other surface defects in powder coatings. It is compatible with a wide variety of resins & other materials used in the formulation of thermoset systems, including epoxy, hybrid, polyester (TGIC), TGIC-free, polyurethane and acrylics. However, each formulation should be evaluated to determine its effectiveness and compatibility. Also promotes pigment dispersion. Provides a smooth surface and control of orange peel. Recommended for powder coatings application. It acts as a wetting, flow and leveling agent. It is a high-performance modifier for solvent-based and high-solid systems including urethanes, alkyds, acrylics, melamine-formaldehyde, nitrocellulose, polyvinyl butyral, urea-formaldehyde, phenolic, polyesters and epoxies. Offers outstanding flow and levelling, reducing surface defects such as craters, pinholes, fisheyes and orange peel. Also offers bubble release qualities as well as contributes to pigment dispersion and color development. Due to its well-balanced surface-active capability, it provides smoother films, allowing the application of thinner formulations, and contributes to substrate wetting and recoats adhesion. Together with its novel pigment-affinic functionality, the product also allows the formulator to optimize the dispersion of almost all pigments and extenders, including such difficult-to-disperse pigments as phthalo blue, phthalo green and carbon black, in a wide variety of thermoset and thermoplastic resin systems. It has relatively easy-to-handle viscosity and good rheology profile in high-solids formulations. Recommended for pigments and coatings applications. It is added to the mill base in the range of 0.1% to 2.0% by total weight of resin solids. It acts as slip control, mar resistance, wetting, flow and leveling agent. It is a silicone based surfactant designed to impart resistance to both solvent-based and water-based coatings. It lowers the surface tension of the formulation and helps to prevent craters and orange peel. Applications include coatings. Used at a level ranging from 0.1% - 0.3% based on the total formulation weight. It acts as slip control, mar resistance, flow and leveling agent. It is a silicone based surfactant designed for use in solvent-based systems, particularly nitrocellulose and acid cured systems. As with any dimethyl polysiloxane, determine its effect on intercoat adhesion and recoatability before commercial use. Minimizes cratering and orange peel, resulting in a smooth film surface. The product also helps in the orientation of flattening agents. Recommended for coating and finished paints applications at a level of 0.1% to 0.4% based on total formulation weight. Polysiloxane copolymer. It acts as a flow & leveling agent, mar resistance agent, slip control agent, scratches and abrasions resistance agent. It is a clear, non-ionic liquid. Its effects are evaluated on intercoat adhesion and recoatability of the film, especially when a high temperature is used for curing. Contributes to the gloss of solvent based formulations and resists cratering & orange peel. Recommended applications include coatings and paints. Use level ranges from 0.1% to 0.3% based on total weight of the paint. Modified hydroxy functional polydimethylsiloxane silicone. It acts as slip control, mar resistance, wetting, flow and leveling agent. This system allows removal of non-penetrating graffiti. Provides weatherability and solvent resistance. It also imparts high thermal stability, improves gloss and aids in wetting the product substrate. It reacts with systems such as 2-component urethanes, epoxy resins, self-crosslinking acrylics, alkydmelamine, polyester-melamine and acrylic-melamine. Recommended applications include coatings and paints. Used in high gloss system at a level of 0.1% to 3.0% based on total formulation weight and in flat or semi-gloss system at a level of 1.0% to 5.0% of total weight. It acts as a wetting agent, dispersing, flow and leveling agent. It is a high-performance grinding vehicle for both organic and inorganic pigments for a wide variety of water-based systems, including urethanes, alkyds, acrylics, polyesters and epoxies. Offers the benefits of stability with high pigments/binder ratios, compatibility with a wide variety of resins, a lower level of grinding resin with both efficiency and formulating flexibility. Through its well-balanced surface-active functionality it provides an excellent combination of hydrophilic and hydrophobic attributes, allowing the formulator to optimize the dispersion of almost all pigments and extenders, including such difficult-to-disperse pigments as phthalo blue, phthalo green and carbon black. It contributes to a smooth film in water-based latex systems. Applications include water-based flexo inks and coatings. It acts as a wetting agent, dispersing, flow and leveling agent. It is suitable for all systems containing petroleum solvents, petroleum oils and oxygenated solvents. Vehicle types in which it is effective include the following organic & inorganic systems, alkyds, acrylics, drying oils, saturated polyesters, epoxy esters, two-component epoxies, oil-modified urethanes, vinyl and amino resins. It optimizes the dispersion of such difficult to disperse pigments as carbon black, phthalo blue and iron oxide through its well balanced surface active functionality. Can also be used as post-add to provide exceptionally good flow, leveling and gloss characteristics in alkyds and linseed oil based coatings. It is added to the mill base at a loading of 0.5-2.0% based on inorganic pigments and 2.0-4.0% based on organic pigments. Also added at 0.1-1.0% of the total formulation weight. Organomodified siloxane. It acts as a mar resistance, flow & leveling agent. It is effective in high solids systems, even at a relatively low level of use, and is generally compatible with wide range of vehicles, including urethanes, nitrocellulose, polyesters, epoxies, vinyls and acrylics. Also contributes to excellent flow & leveling particularly over irregular substrates as well as bubble release. Improves mar resistance without a corresponding decrease in the coefficient of friction. Recommended for coatings applications. Recommended at loadings as low as 0.125% based on total formulation weight. Polyether modified dimethyl polysiloxane copolymer. It acts as a flow & leveling agent, mar resistance agent, slip control agent, scratches and abrasions resistance agent. It lowers the surface tension of the liquid formulations, improves substrate wetting, flow, leveling and gloss. Provides a smooth surface to the films, as well as minimizes orange peel, fisheyes and craters. Also helps reduce blocking problems in can, coil and hardboard coatings. Recommended applications include can, coil, hardboard and industrial coatings.
