AMPS® 2405 by Lubrizol is a high purity monomer sodium salt for stabilizing latex resins. It is a 50% aqueous solution of AMPS 2404. Recommended for use in emulsion polymerization of high molecular weight latex resins for coatings where a liquid product is desired. Provides exceptional mechanical stability to latex. It enhances stability to divalent cations and eliminates grit formation. Improves scrub resistance of latex films. AMPS® 2405 functions as a protective colloid. Can be used in acrylic and modified acrylic latexes for paints, acrylic and modified acrylic water-reducible resins for paints. 2-Acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid. It reduces dust emissions in the air, resulting in better worker safety and reduced plant maintenance. It eliminates clumping and does not allow agglomeration. Used in manufacture of low molecular weight polymers and paper process coatings & finishes.
