Methacrylic ester monomer with a reactive methylene group. Provides improved mechanical and solvent resistance against water or organic solvents. Possesses a low acid number. Offers good weather resistance, hydrolytic stability, low water absorption, low viscosity and very good corrosion inhibition on metal surfaces. Recommended for metal primer applications (high solids). Can be used with acrylates and styrene acrylates in coatings. Lonzamon® AAEMA is a methacrylic ester monomer with a reactive methylene group by Arxada. Provides improved mechanical and solvent resistance against water or organic solvents. Exhibits good weatherability, hydrolytic stability, low water absorption and low viscosity. It crosslinks with primary aliphatic diamines, formaldehyde, isocyanates, metal ions and activated double bonds (Michael-addition), at room temperature. Lonzamon® AAEMA can be used with acrylates and styrene acrylates in water-borne dispersions for wood, industrial and top coatings.
