Binders for Coatings and Inks

SETALUX® XCS 1516 TS-45 by allnex is a CPO modified acrylic polyol with 0.8% hydroxyl content (calculated on non-volatiles). It shows excellent adhesion on PP substrates, excellent water resistance and very good stability at low temperature. SETALUX® XCS 1516 TS-45 can be utilized in primers or metallic monocoats (1K and 2K).

SETALUX® 57-1587 by allnex is a hydroxyl-functional acrylic resin for 2K applications. It offers fast cure, long pot-life and low VOC formulation potential (2.1-3.5 lb/gal). It provides very good exterior durability, UV- and chemical resistance, and excellent overall performance properties.

• It is designed for topcoats, primers and single coat enamels for vehicle refinish and industrial applications.
• SETALUX® 57-1587 is a modifier for both acrylic and polyester urethane systems.
• It is suitable for maintenance-, marine-, metal- and plastic coatings.
• It has a shelf life of 3 years at temperatures up to 100°F.

SETALUX® 2127 XX-60 by allnex is a fast drying thermoplastic acrylic resin. It exhibits high gloss, good adhesion on galvanized steel, good hardness and gloss retention.

• It provides good chemical-, dirt pick-up resistance and outdoor durability.
• It contains xylene as a solvent and is used in general industrial applications.
• SETALUX® 2127 XX-60 has a shelf life of 720 days.

SETALUX® 17-1611 by allnex is hydroxy functional acrylic resin designed for use with aliphatic isocyanate resins in two-component systems. These systems produce ambient curing high performance coatings. Laboratory testing indicates excellent resistance to salt spray, water soak and humidity. Based on accelerated weathering tests, it has excellent exterior durability.

• It provides good flexibility and chemical resistance properties.
• It is suitable for industrial high performance coatings for wood, metal or plastics and fast drying industrial primers and topcoats.
• Recommended for topcoats for transportation, chemical maintenance or construction equipment and spot repair clearcoats for car refinishes.
• SETALUX® 17-1611 has a shelf life of 3 years.

SETALUX® 1801 SA-53 by allnex is a non-aqueous dispersion resin containing acrylic copolymers. It possesses good application properties and color retention. SETALUX® 1801 SA-53 provides solid color and metallic finishes for automotive industry in combination with thermosetting acrylic resin.

DEGALAN® LP 64/12 distributed by DKSH is a versatile binder methacrylates. It exhibits weather- and chemical resistance and lightfastness.

• It is used in UV-printing inks, aerosol, marine & container coatings, primers, impregnations, exterior house-, masonry- and road marking paints.
It is blendable with alcohol and possesses good adhesion to various substrates such as plastics, paper, textiles and metal.
• It is also designed for penetrating primers, concrete- and protective coatings.
• It is compatible with most PVC copolymers, PS, PC, PMMA, ABS, ester-soluble nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, plasticizer, cellulose acetobutyrates/ acetopropionate and partly compatible with alkyd and epoxy ester resins.
• It has a shelf life of 5 years.
• DEGALAN® LP 64/12 is available in Canada.

SETALUX® 1152 SS-51 by allnex is an acrylic polyol in xylene/solvent naptha/butyl acetate. In combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates, it provides easy application even under conditions of high humidity and low temperatures. It offers high build & no yellowing under UV light, excellent exterior durability, good mechanical properties and chemical resistance.

• SETALUX® 1152 SS-51 is suitable for use in varnishes and clearcoats for drying at room temperature and between 60-80°C.
• It has a shelf life of 720 days.

SETALUX® 1182 SS-55 by allnex is acrylic polyol in xylene/butyl acetate. It shows excellent adhesion to metals such as aluminum, steel, zinc plated steel and stainless steel. It provides excellent elasticity, good mechanical properties, good outdoor durability and quick drying. SETALUX® 1182 SS-55 is suitable for use in industrial lacquers.

EBECRYL® 578 by allnex is an inert resin diluted in trimethylolpropane ethoxylate triacrylate (TMPEOTA). It possesses medium viscosity, and is VOC-, chloride- and solvent-free. It is developed for ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB) cured offset lithographic inks and coating.

• It provides good adhesion to various substrate such as metallic and plastic materials.
• It exhibits good pigment wetting and high reactivity and cure speed, and low color for clearcoat.
• EBECRYL® 578 is used in other applications such as screen, gravure, flexo and overprint varnish.
• It has a shelf life of 2 years.

EBECRYL® 436 by allnex is a reactive chlorinated polyester resin diluted 40% with the reactive diluent trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA). It exhibits good lithographic behavior, pigment wetting properties and fast cure response in ultraviolet light (UV) curable coatings and inks. Cured films of EBECRYL® 436 display good adhesion to metals, plastics and paper. It is recommended for wet lithographic inks for paper, plastics and metals, overprint varnishes and post-formable inks.
