Amorphous calcium aluminosilicate glass powder. Acts as a functional filler and extender. It is produced from post-industrial low alkali glass feedstocks. The low alkali glass chemistry results in chemical inertness, making LA-400 resistant to blooming, blistering, or chemical degradation in harsh environments. The feedstock is certified post-industrial and is free from contaminants associated with post-consumer curbside glass. Its particles are transparent, and angular-shaped with similar dimensions in the x, y and z axis. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy confirms that LA-400 does not contain crystalline silica. Has low oil absorption and can be easily dispersed in water or solvent-based systems. It offers high consistent brightness, tint retention and stain/scrub resistance in most paint and coating systems.
