FERROXIDE® Black 863

Supplied byVenator Materials- Last Updated on Apr 3, 2023

Synthetic black iron oxide. It is a high tinting strength inorganic, permanent and inert black pigment characterized by a brownish/gray tint. It is color-stable in processing temperatures below 180°C (365°F). Above these temperatures, 863 will change color from black to brown and finally to red. Slightly higher temperature stability can be achieved when incorporating the pigment in coatings. All Ferroxide® iron oxides are manufactured under strict QC and environmental controls for reliable and consistent quality, stable under exposure to sunlight, UV radiation and are alkali, chemical as well as weather resistant. Used in coatings, colorants, concrete, mortar, stucco and plaster.
