SidleyCel™ HEC – 2000SE by Sidley Chemical is a hydroxyethyl cellulose. Acts as a rheology modifier/thickening agent. It is non-ionic soluble cellulose ether. Possesses good suspension, adhesion, emulsification, film-formation, water retention and protective colloids properties. It shows good mildew-resistant performance and provides enough storage time for paints. It exhibits higher thickening effects, hence reduces dosage, improves the cost-effectiveness of formulation, and enhances the washing resistance of paints. Used in the polymerization of vinyl acetate emulsion to improve the stability of polymerization system in a wide range of pH value. SidleyCel™ HEC – 2000SE is also used in water-based latex paints (especially high PVA paints) and industrial paints applications.
