Nonionic hydroxypropylmethylcellulose surface-treated with a little glyoxal. Used as rheology modifier in in spray paints. The aqueous solution functions as a protective colloid agent, emulsion stabilizer, foam stabilizer, and dispersant. Provides strong, flexible and transparent film with a good barrier property against oil and grease. Offers low ash content, resistance to salting out, pH stability and high water retention.
