SST® –5 by Shamrock Technologies is a white low molecular weight PTFE micropowder with particle size distribution at a mean value of 3 µm. Acts as a slip, mar/scuff, rub and abrasion resistance agent. Provides slip (low COF), high temperature resistance, gloss retention, rub and abrasion resistance properties. SST® –5 is recommended for use in offset inks. SST®-5 is also recommended for all water-based, solvent-based, powder, and UV systems at 0.5-3% of the total formula weight (or 0.5-1% when used with 2-3% of Shamrock’s S Series waxes). It meets the requirements of 21 CFR 175.105, 175.300, 176.170, and 176.180.
