It acts as slip control, mar resistance, wetting, flow and leveling agent. It is a silicone based surfactant which helps to lower the surface tension of solvent-based, water-reducible systems to promote wetting of the substrate as well as prevent cratering and orange peel. Applications include coatings. Used at a level ranging from 0.1% to 0.4% based on total formulation weight.
