It acts as slip control, mar resistance, flow and leveling agent. It is a silicone based surfactant designed for use in solvent-based systems, particularly nitrocellulose and acid cured systems. As with any dimethyl polysiloxane, determine its effect on intercoat adhesion and recoatability before commercial use. Minimizes cratering and orange peel, resulting in a smooth film surface. The product also helps in the orientation of flattening agents. Recommended for coating and finished paints applications at a level of 0.1% to 0.4% based on total formulation weight.
