Omyacarb™ Extra - KA

Omyacarb™ Extra - KA by Omya is an ultrafine ground calcium carbonate designed for matt decorative paints with high pigment volume concentration (PVC). It allows an optimization of titanium dioxide content based on the opacifying effect provided by its ultrafine particles.

• In formulations exceeding the critical pigment volume concentration, titanium dioxide can be significantly reduced without compromising dry opacity.
• Even with reduced pigment levels, brightness may increase slightly while yellowness is minimized.
• It also enables formulators to reduce binder content through improved filler packing within the system, leading to additional cost savings without compromising mechanical properties like wet scrub resistance.
