Rovene® 4201 by Mallard Creek Polymers is a self-crosslinking, carboxylated styrene-butadiene emulsion that has a stiff or ‘boardy’ hand. It may also be used in coatings where a very hard binder is needed. It does not film form under ambient conditions but will fuse into a film at temperatures above 120°F. It can be crosslinked with melamine formaldehyde resins to form a very hard nonblocking film. Rovene® 4201 is recommended for durable nonwovens such as floor maintenance pads and roof shingle mats, both glass and organic.
