AMPS® 2405 by Lubrizol is a high purity monomer sodium salt for stabilizing latex resins. It is a 50% aqueous solution of AMPS 2404. Recommended for use in emulsion polymerization of high molecular weight latex resins for coatings where a liquid product is desired. Provides exceptional mechanical stability to latex. It enhances stability to divalent cations and eliminates grit formation. Improves scrub resistance of latex films. AMPS® 2405 functions as a protective colloid. Can be used in acrylic and modified acrylic latexes for paints, acrylic and modified acrylic water-reducible resins for paints.
