KURARAY POVAL™ 4-98 by Kuraray is a fully saponified polyvinyl alcohol having varying degree of polymerization and hydrolysis. Possesses good penetration capacity and good adhesion properties. It is an odorless, water-soluble polymer manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. Its aqueous solution can be added to polymer emulsions already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol which affects the extension of the open time, setting speed and rheology. Provides high cohesion & toughness, low electrostatic charging and re-dissolving capacity of the dried film in water. KURARAY POVAL™ 4-98 is recommended for use in coating applications. Complies with EU Directive 67/548/EC.
