Exceval® RS-2817 SB

Exceval® RS-2817 SB by Kuraray is a fully hydrophobically modified polyvinyl alcohol especially designed for the requirements of “high water resistance”. It shows strong oil and gas barriers e.g. toward oxygen, carbon dioxide and various aromas even at elevated relative humidity. It has a strong chemical resistance and provides good adhesion to metallization as well as excellent printability. The resulting coatings are highly transparent and glossy. It is an excellent gap filler between paper pulp which results in less permeability of liquids. Exceval® RS-2817 SB finds applications in textile sizing & finishing, photosensitive- and pigmented paper coatings. It is also used in barrier coating of films, paper and other substrates from aqueous solutions. It is certified by FDA regulations.
