Exceval® RS-2117

Exceval® RS-2117 by Kuraray is a fully hydrophobically modified polyvinyl alcohol with high water resistance. It offers strong oil and gas barriers e.g. toward oxygen, carbon dioxide and various aromas even at elevated relative humidity. It exhibits chemical resistance and provides good adhesion to metallization as well as excellent printability. The resulting coatings are highly transparent and glossy. It is an excellent gap filler between paper pulp which results in less permeability of liquids. It can achieve D3 level standard emulsion without using any cross-linker. Exceval® RS-2117 is applicable in textile sizing & finishing, photosensitive- and pigmented paper coatings. It is also used in barrier coating of films, paper and other substrates from aqueous solutions. It is certified by FDA regulations.
