Exceval® AQ-4104

Exceval® AQ-4104 by Kuraray is a hydrophobically modified polyvinyl alcohol especially designed for the requirements of high water resistance. It shows strong oil and gas barriers e.g. toward oxygen, carbon dioxide and various aromas even at elevated relative humidity. It provides strong chemical resistance and good adhesion to metallization as well as excellent printability. The resulting coatings are highly transparent and glossy. It is an excellent gap filler between paper pulp which results in less permeability of liquids. It is applicable in textile sizing & finishing, photosensitive- and pigmented paper coatings. Exceval® AQ-4104 is also used in barrier coating of films, paper and other substrates from aqueous solutions. It is certified by FDA regulations.
