Elvanol™ 71-30 by Kuraray is a medium viscosity, fully hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol. It exhibits thermal stability, elasticity and lower hygroscopicity than other water-soluble polymers. Offers excellent film forming and binder characteristics, along with insolubility in cold water and organic solvents. It provides excellent tensile-, tear- and abrasion strength. It shows good oil-, acid- and alkaline resistance. Elvanol™ 71-30 is used in paper coating applications. It complies with the regulation of FDA 21 CFR 175.300, 175.320, 176.170(b) and 176.180.
