ALKONT® IT 120 by Indorama Ventures Public Company is isotridecyl alcohol 12 ethylene oxide (EO). Acts as a non-ionic surfactant, humectant and dispersing agent. It is generally unaffected by hard water ions. Compatible with a wide range of solvents and non-ionic, anionic, amphoteric as well as cationic surfactants. The hydrophobic portion of its molecule comes from isotridecyl alcohol and the hydrophilic portion, from the ethylene oxide chain. By increasing the degree of ethoxylation, the hydrophilic character of the molecule is increased (higher HLB), which alters its surfactant properties such as water solubility, foaming power, wettability and detergency. Its water solubility characteristic and high cloud point ensure stable formulations at high temperatures. ALKONT® IT 120 maintains its chemical as well as physical stability in alkaline as well as acid medium, and also under varying temperature conditions. It is recommended in construction paint and pigment dispersion applications.
