METHOCEL™ A4M by IFF's Nutrition & Biosciences is a water-soluble, thickener and rheology modifier based on a non-ionic methylcellulose (MC). It acts as a binder, lubricant, film former and suspension aid. It offers protective colloid, pigment suspension properties, higher strength and improved finish durability. It exhibits gelation, reversible gelation with heating, elastic to brittle viscosity builder and advanced rheology control. It possesses adhesion, spreadability, homogeneity and cross-linkable for high retentive gels. It provides wide range of pH stabilization, prevents friction through high lubricity and tolerates low salt levels. METHOCEL™ A4M is used in specialty coatings and inks.
