VeoVa™ EH Vinyl Ester by Hexion is the vinyl ester of 2-ethyl hexanoic acid, a synthetic saturated monocarboxylic acid. It is a very attractive monomer for the manufacture of polymers through reactions of the vinyl group.
- It is hydrophobic and UV stable grade.
- It exhibits good alkali resistance, water repellency, low surface tension, reduced water absorption, outdoor durability and improved adhesion on non-polar substrates.
- It improves hydrolytic stability, pigment utilization and scrub resistance.
- It offers excellent reactivity with ethylene, good reactivity with acrylate and methacrylate monomers.
- It imparts a combination of flexibility (low Tg) and good cohesion and is suitable for polyolefins resins.
- It is suitable for industrial, low VOC decorative emulsion-, redispersible powders, elastomeric paints, plasters and renders.
- VeoVa™ EH Vinyl Ester is also used in wood coatings and varnishes.
- It has a shelf life of 3 years.
