Bentone® LT

Bentone® LT by Elementis is organically modified, refined powdered smectite clay-based highly efficient rheological additive for water-borne systems. It imparts high viscosity and thixotropy. It provides thermostable aqueous phase viscosity control and prevents hard settlement of pigments/fillers.

• It reduces syneresis and minimizes floating/flooding of pigments.
• It gives wet edge/open time and improves water retention of plasters and wash and scrub resistance of paints.
• It offers compatibility with synthetic resin dispersions, non-ionic & anionic wetting agents and polar solvents.
• It can be incorporated as powder or as an aqueous pre-gel.
• It shows pH stability, electrolyte stability, and latex emulsion stability.
• Bentone® LT is used for latex paints, foundry paints, polishes and cleaners, textile finishes and ceramic coatings.
• Its typical addition level is 0.1-1.0% additive by weight total formulation.
• It has a shelf life of 4 years from the date of manufacture.
