Bentone® DY

Bentone® DY by Elementis is a rheological additive designed for waterborne systems primarily interior, decorative latex paints. It is an organically modified and beneficiated smectite clay. It exhibits efficient low-shear thickening and develops stable viscosity without post-thickening.

• It prevents hard settlement of pigments/fillers.
• It imparts high in-can viscosity and reproducible thixotropic flow.
• It provides excellent suspension, improves storage stability and reduces phase separation with maintaining open-time.
• It is compatible with synthetic resin dispersions, coalescents, non-ionic & anionic wetting agents and all other classes of thickeners.
• It is used in emulsion paints, silicate paints and epoxy coatings.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.3-1.5%.
• Bentone® DY has a shelf life of 4 years.
