Polyethylene glycol. It is a water soluble linear polymer, formed by the addition reaction of ethylene oxide to an ethylene glycol equivalent. It acts as binder and modifier. It offers attractive solubility properties, is hygroscopic, enables viscosity profile design, can undergo reactions typical of alcohols and shows wide vapor pressure and melting or freezing range. It is suitable for latex paints and shellacs. It complies with FDA regulation.
