Rheoptima™ X17 by Croda acts as a rheology modifier for inks. It is a vegetable derived polymer used to create clear, thermo-reversible gels of organics with low polarity. It is made by the reaction of functional amines and diacids terminated with various end groups. It gels liquid by forming a 3D structure via hydrogen bonding between the amide groups and is compatible with low polarity liquids. It can be used as a steric stabiliser for dispersions of particulates and allows lower viscosity as well as high solid loading. Suitable for polymeric acrylic/ vinylic/ UV and non-polar solvent system. Rheoptima™ X17 complies with REACH regulation.
