Butoxyl®

Supplied byCelanese- Last Updated on Jun 17, 2019

Butoxyl® by Celanese is a 3-methoxy-n-butylacetate. Exhibits excellent dilutability with ethanol & hydrocarbons and low viscosity. Offers a smooth surface, low volatility, high gloss and flow properties to spray paints. Prevents blushing or milky opalescence of the drying paint films caused by thinners even when used in fairly large amounts. It is a neutral, colorless liquid with a mild odor. Butoxyl® can be used as a solvent in isocyanate- and epoxy-containing systems. Used in high-solids paints, stoving enamels, spray paints (5-10% recommended dosage), brush-applied paints and paints applied by machine.
