12% Cobalt Cem-All® PI drier by Borchers (Milliken) is a cobalt-based drier. It reduces the surface drying time of coatings, varnishes, stains, and inks. It promotes rapid surface drying by catalyzing redox reactions that decompose hydroperoxides through the conversion of Co²⁺ to Co³⁺.
- It promotes uniform through-drying of the paint film when used in combination with secondary driers such as zirconium, barium, or zinc.
- 12% Cobalt Cem-All® PI drier is suitable for use in solvent-based systems and printing inks.
- The recommended dosage level is 0.03–0.08% metal based on vehicle solids of the coating, and 0.03–0.05% based on binder solids.
