Gantrez™ AN-139 by Ashland is a synthetic, alternating copolymer of methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride available in a range of molecular weights. Used as the base polymer for making polymer salts and used as bioadhesives in denture adhesive applications. Gantrez™ AN-139 disperses in water and its side chain hydrolyzes to produce free diacid solutions that are directly useable in oral care products.
