Polyurethane (PU) Resins for Coatings and Inks

EBECRYL® 8209 by allnex is a light color, low viscosity, tin-free aliphatic urethane acrylate oligomer. Provides extremely fast cure response when exposed to UV light or electron beam (EB). Provides good adhesion, scratch resistance and good lithographic properties. Applicable for lithographic, screen, gravure, direct or reverse roll, plastic coatings and curtain coating methods. It can be diluted with reactive monomers such as oligotriacrylate (OTA 480), HDDA, TPGDA and TMPTA. Cured films of EBECRYL® 8209 exhibit high hardness, abrasion and solvent resistance. The shelf life of this grade is 2 years.

Dispurez® 103 by Incorez is an anionic, flexible, toughened polyurethane dispersion. Offers excellent optical clarity and good block resistance. Suitable for durable rigid plastics and flexible films. Designed for durable coating for interior and exterior automotive plastic substrates. Provides excellent weathering resistance, when used in combination with suitable UV stabilizers. Shows excellent adhesion to wide variety of plastics including ABS, PC and PET. It can be added to waterproofing acrylic formulation to improve tensile strength and reduce water uptake. Films derived from Dispurez® 103 exhibit good chemical, stain and hydrolysis resistance.

EBECRYL® 8413 by allnex is a low/zero VOC, solvent-free, pigment grind urethane oligomer. It is used in conjunction with a letdown oligomer, EBECRYL® 1300 to develop non-blocking thermoformable inks suitable for first and second surface applications. It possesses light color and very high elongation at break, and exhibits high gloss, excellent flexibility and good milling properties. It provides good compatibility, long potlife, faster cycle time, low temperature curing and lower energy consumption.

• It offers block-, scratch- & temperature resistance, and good adhesion to a variety of untreated plastic substrates including polycarbonate (PC), polystyrene (PS), polyvinylchloride (PVC), polyester, acrylic and glycol modified polyethyleneterephthalate (PET-G).
• It does not require corona discharge or flame pretreatment.
• UV cured thermoformable inks exhibit tack-free state after cure, low shrinkage (1.2%), and excellent intercoat adhesion.
• Formulated products containing EBECRYL® 8413 may be applied via flatbed screen methods and are recommended for use in screen inks in markets such as displays, signage, POP, vending machine panels, packaging, sporting goods, architectural, electronics, appliance nameplates, housing, toys and novelty items.
• It is also recommended for elastomers application by 3D printing, providing great shape recovery.

EBECRYL® 8890 by allnex is a multi-functional, silicone modified aliphatic urethane acrylate. Used to prepare UV/EB energy curable coatings with low surface energy providing antistain properties particularly in matt gloss coatings. It is characterized by low surface tension, low viscosity and light color. Provides chemical resistance, oil and water repellency. Compatible with other commercial resins. Cured products based on EBECRYL® 8890 exhibit resistance to permanent oil markers & inks, especially in low gloss coatings and mechanical wearing (RCA).

DAOTAN® TW 7000/40WA by allnex is a polyurethane dispersion with low viscosity, free of organic solvents and emulsifiers. It is specifically recommended for plastic coatings (primer, basecoats, mono-coats) for automotive interior/exterior industry, utility vehicles, for foil-coatings as well as for general industry (household articles). Coatings based on DAOTAN® TW 7000/40WA provide properties like excellent elasticity, very high film hardness and high gloss (piano coatings). It shows very good adhesion to plastics substrates (ABS, PC, PP, PVC, PPSU). It offers very good yellowing, extremely high water-, chemical- and chalking resistance. The shelf life of this product is 180 days.

UCECOAT® 7850 by allnex is a tin-, and bisphenol A-free, water-borne radiation curable (UV/EB) polyurethane dispersion which is tack-free before cure and after water evaporation. It was developed for wood coatings but can also be used for other applications. It is a low VOC and solvent-free technology grade.

• Because of its non-irritant nature and low viscosity, UCECOAT® 7850 can be applied safely by spray and curtain coating.
• The cured products are characterized by high flexibility and hardness.

UCECOAT® 7355 by allnex is a low/zero VOC, water-borne, solvent- & organo-tin-free radiation curable (UV/EB) polyurethane dispersion. It is tack-free before cure and after water evaporation. It is developed for high-end wooden furniture topcoats, both transparent and pigmented, but can also be used for other applications and substrates.

• The cured formulations offer very high reactivity in systems, very good hardness, high scratch and stain resistance.
• It provides optimized stability, good compatibility and is easy to formulate.
• UCECOAT® 7355 can be applied by spray and curtain coating.
• It is recommended for clear topcoat for wood furniture, coating on melamine paper foils and PVC floorings.
• It has a shelf life is 1 year.

DAOTAN® TW 6464/36WA by allnex is a low/zero VOC, shear stable, solvent-, and emulsifier-free, self-crosslinking acrylated polyurethane dispersion. It provides quick drying and good wetting properties. It offers transparent cured films with good chemical and abrasion resistance.

• Its neutralization agent is 0.8% N,N-dimethyl ethanolamine, as salt.
• It shows excellent adhesion to plastics like ABS, PC, PP, and PVC.
• It is more flexible and has improved color stability.
• DAOTAN® TW 6464/36WA is recommended for use with waterborne plastic primers and base coats.
• It exhibits extraordinary bright metallic effects.
• It has a shelf life of 450 days.

Leasys® 5531 by Wanhua Chemical is an anionic aliphatic polyester-polyurethane dispersion with high gloss and good handle.

• Exhibits excellent yellow and abrasion resistance.
• It can be used in textile coating and topcoat of leather.
• This waterborne resin is recommended for interior, exterior, clearcoat, topcoat, plastic, wood and glass applications.
• Leasys® 5531 contains <2%triethylamine as neutralizing agent.

Crysol® 6110 by Wanhua Chemical is an aliphatic, anionic polyurethane dispersion for flexible plastic and soft-feel coating.

• It offers good film-forming property, excellent adhesion, excellent solvent resistance and abrasion resistance.
• This waterborne resin is recommended for interior, exterior, clearcoat, topcoat, metal, wood, plastic, wall and glass applications.
