New dispersing agent for ultra-matte solvent-free UV coatings by BASF
Last update on May 14, 2026
Formulators working on ultra-matte, solvent-free UV coating formulations can now evaluate Efka® PX 4720, a dispersing agent introduced by BASF's Performance and Formulation Additives at the American Coatings Show 2026, held from May 5 to 7.
Efka® PX 4720 is developed using Controlled Free Radical Polymerization (CFRP) technology, enabling precisely defined acrylic block copolymers. The structure delivers viscosity reduction, matting efficiency, and formulation stability, even at very high silica matting agent concentrations.
Designed for 100% solvent-free radiation-curing coating systems, Efka® PX 4720 is intended for formulators targeting ultra-matte performance without compromising stability or processability. Typical applications include industrial coatings, furniture and flooring finishes, and 3C coatings.
You can access BASF’s dispersants and compare technical data directly in the Master Catalog of Coatings.
