Part of a global network of 16 Coatings & Construction laboratories

The Coatings & Construction Application Laboratory was first established in Cologne in 2008. Today, it is part of a global network of 16 Coatings & Construction laboratories with more than 50 technical experts.

Coatings formulators working in decorative paints and industrial coatings, construction and adhesives, printing inks, as well as textile and paper products can access expanded capacities and a broader range of services at the laboratory.

“We deliberately chose BioCampus Cologne. The modern infrastructure, strong network of research and industry, and the attractive location in the Rhineland metropolitan region provide ideal conditions for further expanding our technical expertise and offering our partners a state-of-the-art development environment,” explains Christoph Garbotz, managing director of IMCD Germany.

“The modern laboratory space, enhanced technical capabilities and ample room for collaboration enable us to work even more closely with our customers, suppliers and business partners to develop tailored solutions. At the same time, we can support development projects more efficiently and accelerate time-to-market,” emphasizes Jan Schmitter, technical manager Coatings.

The Home Care I&I Application Laboratory, opened in Cologne in 2016, is part of a global laboratory network of 13 locations with experts in cleaning and care solutions.

The laboratory space in Cologne has been expanded with specialized work areas for laundry care, dishwashing, surface care and cleaning, as well as car care and air care.

Regional Technical Centre for Home Care I&I in Europe, we bring together formulation development, product performance testing, consulting and training in one location. With our technical expertise, a broad raw material portfolio and genuine market understanding, we support our partners from the initial idea through to a market-ready solution,” explains Fanélie Jaeglé, technical director Home Care I&I.
