Elementis to showcase hectorite and bio-based additives at ECS 2025

Last update on Mar 3, 2025

Elementis will join over 1,150 exhibitors at the European Coatings Show 2025 (ECS 2025). The event, which takes place between March 25th and 27th in Nuremberg, Germany, will provide an opportunity for peers, customers, and experts to share news, knowledge, and ideas. During ECS 2025, Elementis representatives will welcome over 30,000 visitors and showcase a range of new hectorite, rheology, and formulation solution innovations.

Elementis is a supplier of rheology modifiers and complimentary specialty additives for the coatings manufacturing, decorative paints, construction, adhesives, sealants, and oil and gas industries.

Sustainable & Future-focused Solutions

This year, Elementis will focus its presence at ECS on helping the coatings manufacturing industry to advance sustainability as part of its 'Adding Future' strategy, which targets the development of responsible and bio-based additives, hectorite, rheology, and formulation solutions. During the show, visitors will discover how recent industry developments and advances in the Elementis product range can help them to produce even more environmentally and socially responsible products and step up innovation in the years ahead.

As an owner of high-quality hectorite mine, Elementis is well-positioned to support manufacturers in enhancing sustainability through its naturally derived additives for multiple applications. These include adhesives and sealants, ceramics, construction, energy, paints, coatings and inks, paper and pulp, plastics, and specialty applications.

The highly efficient 3-dimensional structure of the hectorite ingredient reduces the amount of material needed in paint and adhesive formulations compared to alternative clays, contributing to a more environmentally friendly impact.

Beyond ensuring environmental and social sustainability, Elementis brings over three decades of industry expertise and an extensive network of high-tech labs equipped with synthesis and testing capabilities. These specialist facilities empower Elementis scientists to develop renewable rheology modifiers and high-performance formulation solutions that serve as excellent alternatives to synthetic or fossil fuel-based materials.
