High-performance Pigments (or generally known as HPPs) is a class of pigments which exhibit high performance properties as per their use in end application . Some of the main classes include: - Organic (Benzimidazolones, Quinacridones, Perylenes, DPP…)
- Inorganic/Metallic (Bismuth Canadate, Cadmium, Bismuth Vanadate, Aluminum…)
- Optically Variable Pigments (Thermochromic, Holographic, Luminescent)

According to Smithers Rapra report , 'The Future of High-Performance Pigments to 2021', the value of the high-performance pigments market is estimated as $4.75 billion in 2016, rising to $5.49 billion in 2021, at a CAGR of 2.9%. Also mentioned in the report, with a 54 percent market share, coatings remain the most significant end-use for HPPs, followed by plastics, inks and cosmetics, respectively.
