Adhesion to low surface-energy substrates like PP and PE remains a major challenge in coatings. This study shows how Ingevity’s Capa® polycaprolactone polyols improve adhesion in 2K polyurethane systems while also enhancing flexibility, impact resistance, and durability.
By optimizing glass transition, crosslink density, and isocyanate index, formulators can achieve robust, long-lasting coatings with reduced risk of delamination. A structured test plan further supports systematic evaluation of surface treatments and adhesion performance.
