Amines

CYMEL® 303 LF by allnex is a highly methylated, monomeric melamine crosslinker supplied in liquid form. Its high extent of alkylation and low tendency to self-condense makes this product a highly effective crosslinking agent for a broad range of applications such as can, container, automotive and general industrial coatings. While CYMEL® 303 LF is insoluble in water, it shows excellent compatibility with water-soluble backbone polymers and provides very good stability in amine-stabilized waterborne formulations. Recommended for high solids & water-borne-coatings and inks. The shelf life of this resin is 1800 days.

BECKOCURE™ EH 2261w/41WA by allnex is a low VOC, hydrophobic amine hardener especially for the formulation of waterborne metal coatings, free of volatile basic amines and solvents. In combination with epoxy dispersion, fast drying primers and monocoats with excellent corrosion protection and very good non-sagging properties can be formulated, which show good adhesion on untreated, smooth or galvanized steel substrates.

• It shows excellent application behaviour and a very robust performance even on poorly performed surfaces.
• It is used together with solid epoxy resin dispersions or emulsified liquid resins.
• Recommended usage level is 50-75% of the stoichiometric amount of hardener.
• BECKOCURE™ EH 2261w/41WA can be stored for 180 days at storage temperature up to 5-25°C.

EBECRYL® P115 by allnex is a copolymerizable amine-based hydrogen donor, or photoactivator in ultraviolet light (UV) curable coatings and inks. It can be used with EBECRYL® P39 (a polymeric benzophenone derivative) for formulations requiring low residual odor. When used in formulations in combination with a photosensitizer (e.g. benzophenone), it provides rapid UV cure response in air by mitigating the effects of oxygen inhibition at the coating or ink surface.

• It is characterized by very low viscosity, light color, improved stability vs. conventional tertiary amines and low volatility.
• It offers excellent UV cure response, reduced odor, no surface migration of amine, no reaction of amine with organic pigment and high gloss.
• It is used in overprint varnishes, screen & flexo inks, wood topcoats, clear coatings on paper & plastics and pigmented coatings.
• Formulations containing EBECRYL® P115 may be applied via direct or reverse roll, offset gravure, metering rod, slot die, knife over roll, air knife, curtain and immersion and spin coating methods, as well as flexographic and screen printing.
• Recommended dosage level is 5-15% based on total formulation, usually combined with 3-5% photosensitizer.

EBECRYL® 7100 by allnex is an acrylate-functional amine resin generally used as as a hydrogen donor or photo-activator. When used in formulations with a photoabstraction type photo-initiator (e.g. benzophenone), it has an accelerating effect on the UV cure speed. It is characterized by low viscosity, light color, improved stability and excellent pigment wetting. It offers lower residual odor, improved moisture resistance and high gloss. It also promotes adhesion to plastic substrates such as polyester, ABS, polycarbonate and polypropylene oxide. EBECRYL® 7100 is recommended for coatings for plastics, clear coatings for paper, overprint varnishes, screen ink vehicles, metal decorating inks, wood fillers and accelerating UV cure response.

BECKOCURE™ EH 2240/70MP by allnex is an adduct hardener based on polyamine, thus free of volatile amines. In combination with suitable epoxy resins, this hardener enables the formulation of high performing 2K high solids anticorrosion primers. BECKOCURE™ EH 2240/70MP can be stored for 1 year at storage temperature up to 25°C. It can be delivered as 70% in methoxy propanol.

BECKOCURE™ EH 2260w/41WA by allnex is a hydrophobic amine hardener recommended for the formulation of waterborne metal coatings, free of volatile basic amines and solvents. In combination with epoxy dispersions, fast drying primers and monocoats with excellent corrosion protection and very good non-sagging properties can be formulated. BECKOCURE™ EH 2260w/41WA shows excellent application behavior and very robust performance even on poorly prepared surfaces. Using 50-75% of the stoichiometric amount of hardener gives best results. Its shelf life is 180 days at storage temperature up to 5-25°C. It is delivered as 41% in water.

TERAMINE® 1151 by Pflaumer Brothers is a non-blushing epoxy curing agent with excellent surface appearance properties. It has a relatively long pot life and fast cure at ambient conditions. It is designed for bisphenol A epoxy resin, bisphenol F epoxy resin, and modified systems containing glycidyl ethers. It offers high gloss, low color and good color stability. TERAMINE® 1151 is a workhorse hardener for many coatings applications such as industrial floor coating, general-purpose industrial coatings, and architectural coatings applications. Recommended dosage level is 60 phr with standard Bis A epoxy resins (EEW 188).

TERAMINE® 93 by Pflaumer Brothers is a fast-cure, low-viscosity cycloaliphatic amine hardener for epoxy-based coatings. It is designed to cure Bis A and Bis F epoxies, as well as Bis A and Bis F epoxies modified with reactive diluents and non-reactive diluents. It promotes good flow and leveling. It can be applied by conventional spray, roller or brush.

• It offers high gloss, low color, good color stability, and excellent overall appearance.
• It provides excellent chemical resistance for pipe, tank, and container applications, as well as self-leveling floor coatings.
• TERAMINE® 93 is used in light-tints and clear topcoats, commercial and industrial floor coating applications.
• Recommended mix ratio with standard Bis A epoxy resins (EEW 188) is 45.

CeTePox® VP 1652-4 H distributed by DKSH is modified aliphatic polyamine-based epoxy resin hardener. It is suitable for highly transparent thick-layer casting applications as it provides low exotherm and very low yellowing. Although pot-life is very long, the binder offers good mechanical properties.

• It is free from alkyl phenols and benzyl alcohol.
• It is used in paints and coatings.
• Recommended dosage level is 38g (phr).
• It has a shelf life of 1 year.
• CeTePox® VP 1652-4 H is available in Canada.

TERAMINE® 101 by Pflaumer Brothers is a medium-cure, low viscosity cycloaliphatic amine (PACM)-based hardener. It is designed to cure Bis A and Bis F epoxies, as well as Bis A and Bis F epoxies modified with reactive diluents and non-reactive diluents. It offers high gloss, outstanding resistance to yellowing, excellent color stability and excellent chemical resistance and overall appearance.

• It can be formulated at high solids and in solvent-free coatings for application by conventional spray, roller or brush.
• It is used in pipe-, tank-, and container coating applications, as well as self-leveling floor coatings, electrical castings and potting.
• TERAMINE® 101 is recommended for use in light-tints and clear topcoats.
• Recommended use level is 58 phr with standard Bis A epoxy resin (EEW 190).
• It has a shelf life of 24 months from date of shipment.
