KURARAY POVAL™ 40-88 by Kuraray is a partially saponified, water-soluble, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). It has uniform chemical structure and shows great adhesion. It provides extension of the open time, influence on the rheology, good remoistening properties and high degree of flatness during storage under fluctuating air humidity. It offers minimal blocking tendency even in high air humidity and fast setting after reactivation. It is used as an adhesive raw material. It can also be used as a protective colloid which can influence the particle size distribution, viscosity, stability to stirring, freeze/thaw stability, pigment compatibility & electrolyte stability. It is recommended for gumming of paper on the reverse side (e.g. postage stamps and labels), envelopes & Jiffy®-type bags. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives. Aqueous solutions of KURARAY POVAL™ 40-88 can be added to polymer emulsions that are already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol. The shelf life of the product is 12 months. KURARAY POVAL™ 28-99 LA by Kuraray is a water-soluble, low ash polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade. It is manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It shows good adhesion to fiber, filler and pigments. It is a water-soluble grade exhibiting good cohesion. KURARAY POVAL™ 4-88 LA is recommended for adhesive for flooring webs, PSA labels and in remoistenable adhesives which are employed mainly in the paper processing industry, films applications. It has a shelf life of 12 months. KURARAY POVAL™ 5-74 LLA by Kuraray is a low ash polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) by Kuraray. Possesses a uniform chemical structure and greater adhesion. It is manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. Offers extension of open time and increase in the setting speed. Designed for the modification of remoistenable adhesives employed mainly in the paper processing industry. Applications include gumming of paper on the reverse side like postage stamps & labels and the application of gum to the envelopes and Jiffy®-type bags. It influences the rheology of polymer emulsions including particle size distribution, viscosity, stability to stirring, freeze/ thaw stability, pigment compatibility and electrolyte stability. Shelf life of KURARAY POVAL™ 5-74 LLA is 12 months. KURARAY POVAL™ 2-98 by Kuraray is polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade. It is a water-soluble polymer manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It is notable for its good bonding strength and pigment binding capacity because PVAs have such good cohesion and good adhesion to fibers, fillers as well as pigments. It features excellent film forming characteristics, high tensile strength and elasticity, as well as resistance against organic solvents and dispersing power. For the modification of aqueous adhesives its aqueous solution can be added to polymer emulsions already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol which affects the extension of the open time, increase of the setting speed and influence on the rheology. KURARAY POVAL™ 2-98 is used in adhesives which are employed mainly in the paper processing industry. KURARAY POVAL™ LM-20 by Kuraray is an ultra-low saponified polyvinyl alcohol manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It can be self-dispersed into water with agitation. Designed for hot-melt adhesives. It has a shelf life of 1 year. KURARAY POVAL™ LM-20 meets with EU Directives 67/548/EC legislation. KURARAY POVAL™ 20-98 LA is recommended for adhesive for flooring webs, PSA labels and also in remoistenable adhesives which are employed mainly in the paper processing industry, films applications. KURARAY POVAL™ L-11 by Kuraray is polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It is used as an adhesive promoter. It is designed for modification of emulsion adhesives and remoistenable adhesives in the paper processing industry. Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ L-11 can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. It is used in postage stamps and labels. Complies with EU Directive 67/548/EC regulation. The recommended shelf life is 12 months. KURARAY POVAL™ 60-98 by Kuraray is a fully saponified and hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol by Kuraray. It is manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It displays excellent mechanical strength when applied as a film on paper or paperboard making it suitable for use as a surface sizing agent. Designed for release paper for pressure sensitive adhesive labels. Surfaces treated with KURARAY POVAL™ 60-98 repel hydrophobic products such as oil, grease and fat. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
