BENATHIX® PLUS by Elementis is a rheological modifier. It is an organically modified smectite clay for adhesive applications. It is developed to impart thixotropy and drainage control to unsaturated polyester resin systems. Provides manufacturing versatility, good drainage control, improved resistance to settling and syneresis, good glass wetting properties and high filler loading. Recommended dosage level of BENATHIX® PLUS is 0.5-1%.

BENATHIX® rheological modifier by Elementis is an extremely efficient, organically modified smectite clay for use in adhesives. It is a specially designed thickener developed to impart thixotropy and drainage control to unsaturated polyester laminating resins in structural applications. It is an easy-to-disperse, cost-effective alternative to fumed silica and other organophilic clays. Provides minimal gel-time drift and consistent and stable viscosity. It allows increased filler loadings and rapid incorporation into styrene with low-shear mixers. Imparts excellent drainage control, even at low viscosity and thixotropic indices. Offers fast viscosity recovery rate after spray-out or roll-out and good clarity in cured resins. Improves settling & syneresis resistance and produces better glass-wetting properties. It has a shelf life of 4 years. Typical use levels of BENATHIX® range from 0.5-1.0 %wt.
