GENIOSIL® XL 32

Supplied byWacker- Last Updated on Jun 4, 2025

GENIOSIL® XL 32 by Wacker is a moisture scavenger and crosslinker based on an organofunctional (Methacryloxymethyl)- methyldimethoxysilane. It hydrolyzes in the presence of moisture (methanol is released) to form silanols, which can then react with themselves to produce siloxanes or bind to inorganic substrates. The close proximity of the alkoxysilyl group to the ester function results in greatly accelerated hydrolysis and condensation reactions (alpha-effect). As a bi-functional, organically unsaturated molecule, GENIOSIL® XL 32 is able to function as a molecular bridge between inorganic and organic substrates. It is used in heat and/or radiation-curable adhesives and sealants.
