1,5-Pentanediol

1,5-Pentanediol by UBE is based on an aliphatic chain with primary hydroxyl group, makes it highly reactive and useful for the manufacture of a variety of derivatives. It is a raw material for polyester resins and UV-curing materials. Because of its low melting point, it is easier to handle than 1,6-hexanediol. It is also used as a pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediate. 1,5-Pentanediol complies with MITI (2-240), EINECS (203-854-4) and TSCA regulations.
