It acts as a photo-initiator. It is an agent which initiates a chain reaction in polymer formation on exposure to a specific wavelength of energy. Used in solvent-based and UV (ultraviolet) radiation curable adhesives. Applications include EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), acrylic, and TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) adhesives.
