Capa® 2054 by Ingevity is a standard grade low molecular weight, linear polyester diol derived from caprolactone monomer (terminated by primary hydroxyl groups). It gives a narrow molecular weight distribution, low viscosity, low impurities and shows consistent crystallization. Exhibits outstanding flexibility even at low temperatures, excellent strength and abrasion resistance and a controlled and consistent open time. Provides strong adhesion on difficult and sensitive substrates including leather and shows a lasting outdoor performance for polyurethane materials. It is non-toxic, biodegradable and liquid at normal ambient temperatures. Shows a fast wetting process and benefits in durable joints even in humid environments. Capa® 2054 is recommended for use in waterborne, solvent-based and hot-melt polyurethane adhesives. Applications in the automotive and footwear industries, as well as a range of other areas.
