DMS -A21 by Gelest (Mitsubishi Chemical) is an aminopropyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane. This aminoalkylfunctional silicone has a broad array of applications as a result of its chemical reactivity, ability to form hydrogen bonds and chelating ability particularly in the case of diamines. DMS -A21 additional reactivity can be built into aminoalkyl groups in the form of alkoxy groups. It reacts to form a variety of polymers including polyimides and polyurethanes. The block polymers based on it are becoming increasingly important in microelectronic (passivation layer) and electrical (low-smoke generation insulation) applications. It is also employed in specialty lubricant, surfactant and encapsulant applications.
