Exolit® AP 422 A by Clariant is a non-halogenated flame retardant with a favorable environmental and health profile. It is a fine-particle ammonium polyphosphate (phase II) with less than 0.1% melamine. It is colorless, non-hygroscopic, non-flammable, and free of SVHCs. It has low vapor pressure, water- solubility, acid number, and viscosity in aqueous suspensions.
  • It offers good flame retardancy to adhesives and sealants when it is incorporated into the base formulation at the rate of 10-20%.
  • It is biodegradable by breaking down into naturally occurring phosphate and ammonia.
  • It can be used in transport applications to obtain good fire, smoke, and toxicity results.
  • Exolit® AP 422 A has a shelf life of 12 months.
